One of the things that I have started to do is work with the Moon Cycles.
The main reason is that I want to be more in tune with the Creative Forces. I share my observations with people because it's something that I enjoy doing. On the Path of the Seeker it becomes clear that there is a cosmic pattern. We can't see the entire pattern from our limited perspective but we can get hints of what that pattern. One of the ways that we can do that is by working with symbols that revolved around the cycles we have in life. Constant Change We live in a reality where the only guarantee is that there will be change. That's one of those things that makes life worth living. If every day was the same and we had the same experience over and over again eventually we would master that experience to such a level that it would be automatic and boring. The Moon reflects the constant change of our reality far better than the Sun. The moon has the fastest cycles of any of the planetary bodies. For years different tribes of people around the world work with the Moon's energy. There is a huge body of work that is devoted to systems involving the Moon. By relying on this ancient knowledge we can grasp the bigger picture that is occurring in our reality. Why Not The Sun? The Sun does go through cycles and it is important to know what is happening with the Sun, yet, it changes far less frequently than the energy on Earth. While the Sun's energetic attraction is always upon us it is far more steady and constant than that of the Moon. The Creators Mind Since everything in the scheme of our reality was created by the Creator it is reflective of the Creators Mind. That's how the patterns in the heavens and Earth can reflect one another. They are literally One Thing. Since a pattern can be detected in reality (as indicated by the 7 code) when we align ourselves with that pattern we align ourselves with the Will of the Creator. Why Was This Knowledge Lost? One of the mistakes that happened along the way with organized religion is that people started to worship the pattern itself- the seven planets, the sun, moon and even the nodes of the moon- which created the Pantheon of Religions. There was money in having different temples devoted to different areas of life. Then Rome discovered there was a lot of wealth by declaring monotheism and that the Creator was only accessible through their trained magicians...um, priests. People would go to the Priests for every possible avenue of desire from praying for physical items, to confession, and even settling disputes. Now Science has realized there is a lot of money in having all of the answers. Even though the discipline itself acknowledges the limitations of the system the organizations, just like all businesses, realize that income is paramount to survival. So, Science has sold out to secure funding above the pursuit of knowledge and is more political and spiritual (Atheism), The Full Moon Technically the Full Moon comes first setting the tone for the entire Moon Cycle. However, this is actually when we should meditate because it is a receptive feminine energy. The Sun and Moon are in opposition in an astrological chart. An opposition is considered a tense aspect and very one sided in this case. The Moon is literally absorbing and reflecting the energy of the Sun. To put it into a metaphorical example, the Sun is like the Creator and the Moon is like the individual soul. The Sun sends its energy and a one way communication to the Moon. The moon has no light of it's own to shine back to the Sun so the only option it has is to align with the energy that the Sun is beaming it to it. That's why the Full Moon is when we receive communication from Spirit through meditation. This is a moment where we can either align ourselves to reflect back the energy of the Creator or we can choose to shut it out so that we keep doing the same thing. Meditation puts us into that receptive mood so we can align with that energy to the best of our ability. I pull a stone during the Full Moon because it is receptive to do a reading because you're receiving information from the weave of the universe. When you leave accept the possibility that everything has a meaning because everything is connected (Oneness) synchronicity and divination becomes a valid source of information. Divination is a way to receive energy from the Creative Forces. As far as cycles are concerned this is the point of Harvest that we experience every Moon Cycle. This is when the energy that started on the New Moon reach fruition and we see the result of our prayers or actions. New Moon The new Moon is a masculine active energy. In an astrological chart the Moon and Sun are in cojunction during a New Moon. That means, unlike the one side interaction of the Full Moon, the Moon and Sun are communicating with one another. That is why prayers and setting intentions belong to the New Moon cycle. Research is an active energy and that is why I gather the information and symbolism for the overall cycle during the New Moon. We need to know what the weave is doing and I look at it from multiple perspectives to get a sense ove the overall energies. This is also a very static energy. The New Moon is always in the current Zodiac systems so we revisit the same information in a new way. The same goes with the Hebrew Letter and Indigenous Moon Sign. While we are revisiting old familiar energy we can detect the particular flavor of the cycle by how those symbols interact with one another. I pull an Animal Medicne card for the New Moon for advice and the tone of what this new cycle in familar territory will contain. Again, this is a receptive energy but when the Sun and Moon are in conversation both sides are communicating with one another. Conclusion Working with the Moon Cycles and the ancient systems of symbolism surrounding it we can become in Alignment with the Creative Forces. This alignment helps us weather life's storms better since we know what to expect. In a world that is constantly changing it makes sense to work with the energy that changes the most- the Moon- and that (according to some sources) was put into place specifically for that purpose. The Moon represents the subconscious in symbology and by bringing the energy into our consciousness we are performing one of that highest acts of Alchemy. We are literally transforming and mastering the environment when we bring our subconscious energy (which is far stronger and inclusive then our narrow limited consciousness) into the awareness of our consciousness. This is a form of Shadow Work and transmutation. Taking the hidden from the darkness and bringing into the light. When we are aware of the energy that influences our beheavior on every level of our being we can choose to react to it or work with the energy. When we willingly work with the energy of the cosmos and the web of life we experience a far smoother ride. The peaks and valleys become less extreme. That, in a nut shell is why I choose to work with the Moon Cycles. There are so many different levels and layers to the different New and Full Moons that it's fun. There is a lot of information to process with each New and Full Moon.

I downloaded this App to see if it was worth having.
The spritual dance music video that I'm sharing above is older but it's my favorite from this year. Just the App itself has all of the Spiritual Dance Music and Deep Astrology videos that David Palmer (the Leo King) does for free. Being that YouTube has become super strange and started to block a lot of videos having a direct app for these videos ensures that I'll have access to the videos. The main reason I downloaded the App is because I love listening to Spiritual Dance Music. I usually listen to it when I do my 30 minute work out each day. Every Full Moon and New Moon David does Spiritual Dance Music and then for two weeks that's the theme I listen to when working out. If you pay for the App you get even better content. Then you get David's Daily horoscopes, Tamara's Daily Impact and Appollodyte's daily forecasts. I only listen to David and Tamara because it's a bit too much to listen to anymore and they are different enough that it's worth listening to both. You also have access to Full Disclosure which is basically a podcast where David and Craig talk about something random. Sometimes it has a little bit to do with astrology but it is very interesting because they are entertaining. I think they can improve the app with more content but I'm not sure what they should include. I think they could do with someone who teaches about Shadow Work tied into Astrology. I also think that someone talking just about crystals like the Weekly Crystal Oracles that I do (which I bet will catch on) could fit in on this App so I do see it eventually growing. I can even see ASMR on this App offering a variety of videos that tie in with the astrology or moon cycles. I'd love to see more Apps like this from other Creators because it is so nice not to have to use YouTube. I'd really like to see this as the eventual Spiritual Alternative to YouTube for all sorts of videos and creators. I think this App is going to go far. I highly recommend the High Vibe App. The Below direction, after all of the outward otherworldly experiences of the Above direction is more grounded as we encounter the sacred feminine. This direciton is more grounded in the every day life and yet it is something more. Where we learned the linear multidimensional aspect of our beings through dreams and past life or future memories in the Above direction here we learn the non-linear...that we are all of those aspects and yet none of them too.
This direction is tied to the Moon. Sun Bear describes the Moon this way: “...the moon was considered the leader of feminine life, in part because women, like the moon, experience different phases, different cycles. Grandmother Moon teaches a different aspect of the feminine than the Earth Mother does. This aspect of the feminine is one strong enough to be receptive, the one strong enough to surrender to life. This aspect of the feminine is the one wild enough to seduce the active forces, visionary enough to conceive of new life come from the old. Grandmother Moon dreams the children Earth Mother nurtures.” Not surprisingly, Jamie Sams associates this direction with the Feminine Void. The Void is not empty as we would expect but holds the potential of all life. When scientists pointed their telescopes into the darkes portions of the night sky they found the most densely packed areas of stars. Here is how Jamie Sams describes the Void: “For a few years prior to actually entering the void, we vaguely feel something happening that we cannot understand, and we are confronted with our ow resistance to moving beyond our comfort zone that has given us wonderful insight and a multitude of spiritual bursts of information and energy. On a subconscious level we have the right to stay in this place of inner knowing because we have earned it. We forget the universal law that everything evolves and that movement is required in order to go to the next level of the dance.” pg 221 The feminine is a place where things are non-linear and requires us to let go of even more of what we held onto as our personal identity. Sometimes when working on the Above direction we think that we know all of the answers but we are always called to the Below direction where we admit that there is still more to discover. The final layers of our subconscious programming are stripped away on this level as we learn how to maintain even more of a neutral state of mind. We realize that we are not the series of past or future lives that we may have explored in the Above direction. We are not the Spiritual Path but the consciousness that is witnessing the exploration while simultaneously exploring. So while we have met a level of completion we return back to the Medicine Wheel, for as long as we have a physical body the work is not done, and we continue with the experience anew but with a fresh perspective. I admit I was a little skeptical when I got the first Karen Katz book that my Little One would like it. She's loved lift-a-flap books since she was six months old. They held her interest much more than other books. However, this seasonal series of books is a great way to teach and get little kids excited about the holidays. I wanted my little one to know what each holiday was about and these, when it comes to holidays, is the best series. My little one loves reading these books and as she's gotten older appreciates them even more. I have one for every major holiday. The only holidays that Karen Katz didn't cover are St. Patrick's Day and the 4th of July which I find weird because she has one for Valentines Day. I haven't bought the Christmas book yet but I intend to buy it as a gift this Christmas. Aside from those two holidays missing I highly recommend Karen Katz "Where is Baby's..." seasonal series of books! The Above direction is when we become what Jamie Sam's calls, “Galactic Citizens” and we also work with the Male aspect of divinity.
We have left behind the sense of Separation that the first four directions represents realizing the interconnecting pattern of all of life represents what the Emerald Tablet refers to as, “One Thing.” Absolutely everything in our reality is a part of That One Thing. Now we begin to be aware of what lies beyond duality and what Wholeness really means. This is the direction where people start to experience other levels of reality with vivid dreams, out of body experiences, and past life memories. We still experience and perceive things from the point of view of linear reality but we begin to perceive something more. Sun Bear pays respect to this direction by equating it to the Father Sun: “This...teaches about the core masculine energy and about the active principle of the Universe. In this position you can learn to accomplish things and find courage.” pg 26 Jamie Sams explains this is where there are “marriages found in Oneness,” (pg167) and explains it this way: “Several unions of heart, body, mind and spirit begin to occur the moment we decide to embrace both worlds simultaneously. We gain a certainty of what is right for us personally and what is not appropriate for us. We understand our spiritual growth process without denying the unexplainable aspects that formerly created hesitation.” pg 167 She goes on to explain: “At this level of initiation we discover that the time has come for the eaglets to leave the nest and to use the wings they were given to fly. Our new self-reliance allows us to become more responsible for the past, present and future. We no longer need to process every event in our lives or to figure out why something occurred. The successful healing methods of the past do not apply to the uncharted territory that we are approaching.” pg 170 This is a point of purging as well where we let go a lot of the baggage that we have been carrying around. We let go of studying the symbols and start to simply know without the tools that we would have used previously. There is a common theme of flying through or into suns in this direction of the Medicine Wheel and having what we thought was the self burn away. This is actually very sublime warm loving experience in which we become aware that our body and our thoughts are not who we are but that we are consciousness having an experience.
Some could argue that the Center should come last in the list.
Yet, the Center is both apart of and outside of the series and yet when we study the above and below we are examining different aspects of the Center. The Center is Multidimensional which we'll explore a bit more when we explore the Above and Below directions. Sun Bear explains: The center of the Medicine Wheel, the Creator, stands alone...The Creator is the beginning of life and its ending, the great mystery within all things and around all things, the Universal energy...In many Native languages the word for the Creator is not a noun. The word was a verb, indicating the movement, the activity, the motion, the pulsation of this sacred, never ending force.” pg 25 The Center is neither male nor female but is everything at the same time. Kathy L. Callhan describes the Center this way: “In addition the sacred four directions of the Medicine Wheel, most traditions also honor the center, the point from which the directions radiate. While the teachings of the Medicine Wheel are anchored by the sacred four directions, the directions themselves are anchored by the Center...The Center represents the essential or soul-self of every human, ever changing and transforming, moving beyond the seasons of this world and through time itself we become one with the Creative Spirit. You begin and end each journey upon the Medicine Wheel in the Center.” pg 11-12 Jamie Sams explains that her Cherokee and Seneca Ancestors called the the center by two names- the Within Direction and the Now direction (pg 235). She goes on to explain: “We have gone full circle, arrived within, and we choose to walk the wisdom that we have encountered, using a physical body, dancing the dream of infinite Oneness in the here and now.” pg 254 The Center is expressed in all six of the directions as it is the “One Thing” itself. This is the summation point of all of our explorations on the Path of the Medicine Wheel and we can choose to return to the center after exploring each of the directions. As Callahan explain this is the anchoring point. If we apply the Kabbalah concept that 'light' came to the physical material reality to soon causing it to break it is through the use of the Medicine Wheel that we repair Malkuth and the Center is what emanated all of the other directions. Each time we explore the six directions on the Path of the Medicine Wheel we are actually repairing this central hub of our being and opening the door to experiencing Oneness with the Divine. I was thinking about reviewing these V-tech toys separately but decided to do a review of the maker because I prefer V-tech toys. As you may be able to tell by how faded some of the writing on these toys are they were my daughters favorite as an infant. These three toys are a primary example of why V-tech is better. There technology is just better. They don't rely on gimmicks for their toys to work. They're fully interactive. All of these toys light up, have dozens of saying and never get annoying even if your baby is in the back seat shaking (the mouse), winding (the lion) or pulling (the snail) the entire two hour car ride to the grandparents. My daughter was already interested in the light and sounds of the snail when she was a month old. Even now, since I have it hanging from a security gate She will pull on it just to see it light up. The first time she was able to pull on the snail itself was a huge delight for both of us. The only gripe I have with the Mouse Teether is that the cheese has a weird chemical taste. I soaked it in vinegar for a day and got rid of it but it did come back with time. If/When I have a second child I'll probably soak the plastic cheese part in vinegar to get rid of the plastic taste temporarily. The texture of the cheese was apparently really good when my daughter was teething as this was the teether she preferred most. Heck, I like to play with these toys myself they are so interactive! I got the lion toy for her when she was a little older. We had the lion, mouse and the snail on our car until recently when she turned two and she's old enough to play with a tablet. The fact that they held her attention the entire car ride somewhere says a lot for how interesting she found these toys! Only now, as she has a longer attention span and going for car rides is not so exciting has she lost interest in them! None of the Fisher Price hanging toys we got compared. All of them were really boring and she shared no interest after the initial onset of curiosity. None of them stayed in the car past the first three months. That's why, for that initial set of toys for the car, stroller or to hang in their crib I highly recommend that you get V-tech. This Xylophone is the best! My father bought this one for my daughter to play with when visiting. He gave it to us when he moved to another state. I bought another xylophones in a percussion set for my daughter but it was completely out of tune. This xylophone is far more professional but remains bright and colorful so that my daughter wants to play with it. Also it came with music so we had a lot of fun. Although that's a bit too advanced for my two year old when she gets older she might have fun with the music sheets. Plus it's a great way for her Dad to start introducing reading music notes. I highly recommend this Xylophone! |
