Now, this is another one of those things I've been sitting on.
There is a strange mystery about Greece. Let me take this step by step. I also want to make it clear I love Greece. I wanted to go to the Greek Islands for my Honeymoon but sadly, due to poor planning, I didn't have the opportunity. I, like so many thousands, feel a romantic love for Greece and her islands especially. The Greece I Learned About There is so much history left out of the history books about Greece. The Greece I learned about it school was peaceful. In fact, it was set up to be the ideal government. They had wonderful philosophers such as Plato and Socrates that came out of their ability to sophisticately think. Their democracy was recognized as slightly flawed (too many voices led to chaos) but it was considered, as far as my textbook was concerned, the very model of civility. As though, somehow Greece alone had brought the gift of knowledge and intellecualistim into the world. Heck, they literally worshipped the intellect- A goddess named Sophia. Ever heard the statement, "Knowledge is power"? I'm pretty sure that comes from Greece. The other thing we learned about was the Olymypics. They started as a way to help unifty the different Greek States. Yes, Greece was one of the basic foundation countries upon which the United States was based. I believe it was the first country that had unique states that were very distinct in personality from each other but unified. The entire world now participates in the Olympic Games. The honor to host them is huge with countries pouring billions of dollars into the host city that builds stadiums to house the games. That is one way the entire world expresses their unity. I never read about Greek military history. Every Other Country History Now, I would dismiss this shallow interpertation of Greek history as bias because the part of the United States government- the democratic process of voiting and having independent states- except for there is a problem. Rome, which is an offspring of Greece in many ways, and their Republican government was also a inspiration. In fact, the United States is a Republic and not a pure Democracy. Rome, however, (just like every other country I ever studied) was villified. Every other country that is studied you receive a huge amount of military history. That's all they are known for...their military history- their generals, their kings, and what they conquered. The only exception is Greece. Troy, Persia and Sparta Sparta, the cruel warrior state of Greece. They used to abandon newborn babies that were considered 'imperfect' on hills because they were not considered fit to live. That's what pure intellectualisim will get you. True, the the story of Troy is one of those that you do hear about. However, they're not really portrayed as the aggressor in the Odyssey. The battle of Troy is just a very small part of that book. I did read that in high school...but again, it was taught as the height of intellecualisim. Some say it's a depiction of how the Gods can be fickle. I never liked it and I never liked Odyssius or saw why Achilles was considered so great. He was just a demi-god warrior. Big whoop. I should hope most people see Agammenon who sacrficed his own daughter to the Goddess of War to gain her favor to be a villian. Each, in the story, is spoken of as heros. To me it's a testament of testasterone. Then there is the story of the 300. Again, Greece didn't start the war. Instead, Persia was the aggressor. So, the two stories we hear about Greece and it's military history...which are only popular as entertainment...Greece is not portrayed as the aggressor. If Paris hadn't taken Helen...then the battle of Troy wouldn't have happened. If Persia hadn't attacked Greece the story of the 300 would not have happened. History, it seems, portrays Greece as a victim and their military causes as virtious. That's fascinating to me because no other country is afforded this treatement. Greece and Israel I didn't know that Greece attacked Israel. That's not taught in the United States history books. Yet, it's a big deal. That's the inspiration for Hanukkah. Here is an article on the topic: https://www.chabad.org/holidays/chanukah/article_cdo/aid/102911/jewish/What-Is-Hanukkah.htm Note the term Seleucid Empire. I never read about that Empire in History books at school. History was my favorite subject. What was the Seleucid Empire- a Greek Empire that also ruled Syria. Here is the wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seleucid_Empire The story goes that the 7 Noahide laws for gentiles had reached Greece and alot of people started to convert. The response from the Greek government was to send an army to Israel to destroy them and the Temple. The Greeks poured out the barrels of oil to keep the Minorah lit (an item never meant to go out) and only a tiny bit of the specially prepared olive oil was left. That little bit of olive oil kept the Menorah going for eight days. By a miracle, outnumbered by the Greeks, Israel turned their invading army back. A Validation For Me Don't tell me why I didn't know that it was the Greeks who led to the Holiday. Why that's not taught and why they don't say flat out- the Greeks- I don't know. That's the Enigma. I read about it Daniela Abravanel's book on the Hebrew Alphabet. That stopepd me cold because in a past life regression when I saw Yeshua (Jesus) in Jerusalem the little egyptian girl that I was thought to herself when she saw the blue green color of his eyes: "He must have Greek in him." That was a strange thought and not mine. I didn't know that the Greeks had an influence in Israel. I didn't know about that war or the Noahide laws until the 2017. I dropped that mystery from that past life for many reasons. In fact, I dismissed it. That regression session was very strange because it seemed as though I was gazing through her eyes in real time, Yeshua saw me and recongnized it, and began to come towards me. I yanked myself out of that Past Life Regression and haven't done one since. I quesitoned if it was real. My biggest fear with my spiritual studies has been the idea of the 'God Complex.' The idea that I would get a big Ego as a result of thinking that I was someone important in a past life- as many woman 'remember' being Nefertiti in Egypt. I always felt sorry for those people and felt that they were distoring their past life memories because they feel powerless in this life and want to use their past lives as a way to gain power and be someone important in this life. Yet, here is this Greek connection suggesting that past life was real. Why Is The Greek Battle In Israel Not Common Knoweldge? Why do churches portray Israel as though it was some sort of vacuum unaffected by the outer world? As though it were entirely isolated? Yet, it was not. It was at the heart of a trade route heavily influenced by outside cultures. The fact that the Greeks invaded Israel and that miracle ended that battle...that should be celebrated and known by everyone. Yet, it strangely seems to have been suppressed. All Roads Lead To Helen And Alexander The Great I'm still researching this topic. Yet, two figures not given too much attention keep coming up. Alexander The Great The Goddess Helen...is that Helen of Troy? I don't know but we will touch on both in upcoming blogs. Alexander, like Gilgamesh went on a quest to the two places assoviated with the nummo- Zechiriah Stitchin mentions it in his book End of Days. Alexander also has a connection the Emrald Tablet. The Emerald Tablet has a connection with Noah...a connection also associated with Gilgamesh, who visits the Babylonian version of Noah and his journey to become a legitimate God-King. The Greek Helen has a connection to the Lebe which has a christian conneciton as well...and has been connected as a symbol of the Nummo by Shannon Dorey (whom I don't feel is quite on it when it comes to her exploration of the Nummo of the Dogon...she's a lot less balanced then Laird so her work comes out realy distorted). The Most Ancient Texts We Possess I must make this note in this blog because of the Odyssey. First, we have to recognize that there were probably texts that were more ancient. The Libraries that held the oldests texts were destroyed by Rome. Some might view that as nefarious but there might have a been a purpose that served all of Humanity. Of course, cutting off that knowledge plunged the world into the Dark Ages. So, we can rest assured that the oldest textt hat we curren otly have were not neccesairly the oldest texts that had ever existed. Yet, I'm sure there is a reason that Gilgamesh and the Odyssey survived while other texts did not. While we look at the as literal stories of historical figures...their symbolisim offers more because in that time...like the bible...such tales were tall tales. Just as we today know that the storiesof Paul Bunyon and Johnny Appleseed are not literal but exaggerated stories of true individuals...the same idea is appropriately applied to these ancient texts. Therefore the symbolisim of the story is just as imporant to understand as the historical significance of the individuals. Archetypal Symbolisim is the universal language of humanity...if not the cosmos itself. I will write a blog on telepathy, as I have experienced it, eventually. Suffice to say when experiencing that an image is often shown with a feeling. So, if I saw an image of a lily, with the feeling of love, I would know it would mean that individual loves lilies..as long as the feeling is directed to the lily. What is the deeper purpose to the Odyssey? I will get deeper into that...but with Gilgamesh there is a tie to Alexander The Great. There is also a tie to Alexander the Great and Greece...therfore the Odyssey. Curious. Greece In Modern Events Globalisim. I don't like that word. I am not a globalist. I love indepdent countries that are not ruled by a single leader. The entire world behaving like the United States...after I have seen how some presidents and our government has abused their power keeping us in a constant state of war without telling us why since the World Wars...I am not for it. Yet, if we did switch into a world with a single auhority ruling the world...where do you think the ruler would be? Would it be Greece? I don't know but...if you look at the Olympics symbolically...that's what they represent. Further, if you look at the events around the European Union...it's Greece that's being funded by that Union. They're huge social programs are what are being funded. British people desire to leave the European Union because they don't want to pay for Greeks to have a better lifestyle then them. Why should they? Conclusion Well, that is the Greek Enigma. Why is the Greek at the center of so much Mystery? Why is it the only country depicted as peaceful and wise when it was not? I don't know. I would have thrown the entire question out if it hadn't been for the weird reaction to the idea that I suggested that Greece is depicted as being peaceful when it is not on a post by Laird Scranton. Someone wrote that I was being childish. I responded with a Pooh Bear looking confused. I was surprised such a vehement response. That led me to believe there is more here. Further, Laird's work about Crete and tying Greece to the Nummo has met considerable resistance from strange charecters. Not hateful...but people trying to convince him he's being...childish. This seems so reminiscent of the Pyschologist in Glass that I want to laugh. People trying, unsuccessfully prove that it's all smoke...and nothing of substance there. They clearly haven't worked with Laird's previous work...and they clearly don't know that ancient people are notorious for building on top of previous sacred sites in an attempt to harness the energies of those locations...just like the Romans converted the Jewish Temple into a temple to Zeus to show their domination. When people like that show up in response to what seems like something minor...and there is so much msytery surrounding a place...well, things are adding up aren't they?

Book Review of Ancient Egyptian Mysticism and It's Relevance Today By John Van Auken
I've always had a deep attraction to all things Egyptian. You don't have to believe in reincarnation or find the work of Edgar Cacye to be even slightly true to appreciate this book. If you merely pick it up out of curiosity to view Egypt through the eyes of a mystic...you'll enjoy this book. This is not a stuffy academic explanation or some philosophy academic studying of this topic. John Van Auken has been to Egypt and remembers a past life experience in Egypt. I am not an advocate for the stuffy professors of Egyptology with their 1800's anthropological attitude that everything that came before the egalitarian christian ideology is savage death magic. They, like many other academics, are very stuck in a particular era and there mindset has changed little from the time when King Tut's tomb was opened. Of course they think that Ancient Egyptian's (not to be confused with modern day Muslim Egypt) were obsessed with graves...because the majority of their artifacts and knowledge come from graves. John Van Auken always comes off as a very down to Earth regular guy who want's to make mysticism approachable for everyone. He has the phenomenal ability to sum up concepts that are very complex in every day language. He presents a wealth of material from Egypt to explain how the Egyptians saw life and death. They were a culture that were intricately familiar with the concept that spirit descended into the material world and became trapped. Further, they left a guide so that we may remember the way home out of material reality. Not only was that story encapsulated in what we commonly know as the Egyptian Book of the Dead (the name that the Ancient Egyptian scribe who wrote it gave it was Coming Forth By Day). In this book John Van Auken includes excerpts from the book of the Dead so we can follow Ani on his trip to the afterlife. The philosophy put forward for Egyptian Mysticism by John Van Auken fits well with the Buddhist belief in Samsara and the ability to attain enlightenment so that we do not have to reincarnate into the material world. This also seems to be the source material for the Sumerian religion. John Van Auken makes a strong argument that the Egyptian creation story correlates with the biblical creation story. I go back to this book when I'm comparing cosmologies all of the time. The one part that I have found repeated in all the creation stories is the part where Ra perceives himself and then starts naming his members who are the God's who accompany him. That's not very different from how in the Bible Adam naming things as soon as he is created. If you are interested in cosmology and Egypt I highly recommend this book. This approach to who Egyptian's viewed the world simply makes sense...instead of the Egyptian Book of the Dead being a 'spell performed for the dead to ensure they go to the afterlife' as the stuffy academics perceive it.... The full page color photos really bring alive his examples and he explains how the God's really represent concepts in the physical realm (a.k.a. forces of nature/archetypes) and the Egyptians knew they were weren't actual 'beings' (at least at the start of the Kingdom). A good portion of the book is dedicated to explaining Edgar Cacye's past life as an Egyptian Priest...which isn't as interesting as the explanations for the tomb drawings or John Van Auken's approach to Coming Forth by Day but it is very interesting. I refer to this all of the time in this blog and when comparing cosmologies it offers a very fascinating look into interpreting Egyptian Mysticism in a way that it actually makes sense...and ties in nicely with a majority of other cosmologies throughout the world. Instead of making Ancient Egypt appear to be a unique culture filled with magical heathen practices that existed within a vacuum without influencing other cultures...He explains how the Egyptian perception of life is still relevant in our life today. I highly recommend this book even if you look at it all as pure fancy and fiction it is a highly entertaining read. The Mystery of Skara Brae Book Review I picked up The Mystery of Skara Brae Neolithic Scotland and the Origins of Egypt by Laird Scranton because I had read Point of Origin: Gobekli Tepe and the Spiritual Matrix for the Worlds Cosmologies. I really loved that book and I was expecting further investigations into this fascinating core cosmology that Scranton has uncovered. This book was simply amazing and represents Laird's best writing to date. Laird Scranton takes us on an adventure where investigates the mysterious remote archaeological site in Scotland known as Skara Brae. Each of his books is an adventure where we uncover what appears to be universal symbols in many cultures (Chinese, Tibetan, African, Egyptian, Gobekli Tepe Turkey, and now Scottish) with the same underlying principals. Astonishingly, each of these describe how the very fabric of our reality is created. Thanks to the preservation of the Dogon tradition, Scranton explains that he was given all of the answers to uncover this ancient cosmology and recognize in through linguistic means and symbolism in other cultures. As a computer programmer he was trained in understanding computer language left behind by others. Such programmers write code in a way that those who follow can interpret the intentions of what they wrote. Thanks to this background he is uniquely qualified to find these encoded meanings and provide ample proof that his correlations are correct. What Laird Scranton does is compare ancient cosmologies (belief systems) of different groups. He started with the Dogon cosmology in Africa, found connections between the pronunciations of words in Egyp as well as correlations with hieroglyphics. He has since gone through various other cultures including Hindu, Buddhism, etc. My favorite part is when he goes through different stone monuments and constructions on the site of Skara Brae and links them to the ancient concept of cosmology that he has identified. That cosmology is the same that symbolizes the formation of matter. He makes a convincing argument that the very houses of the mysterious ancient civilization of Skara Brae are almost identical to the Dogon. The only exception is that in these colder northern lands the structures have the addition of a fire pit. While this book focuses mostly on structures, as the inhabitants of Skara Brae did not leave behind any writing, it ties in perfectly with his previous work. The monuments that they left behind fit in perfectly and are not random. These books are not airy fairy spirituality. The cosmology that Laird Scranton has discovered is firmly grounded in science. This is the strongest and best aspect of his books. They are based on sound logic and science. His work is of astonishing importance to anyone fascinated with Ancient Cultures and the knowledge our ancestors had in antiquity. What was the purpose of our ancestors knowing how matter is formed? Why is this mysterious cosmology so important it was preserved in so many cultures through their stone structures and ultra conserved words or symbols? Were they waiting until mankind reached the level of knowledge we have now achieved or was there some other purpose? This, as all of the best books do, will leave you with more question't then answers. Yet, it will leave you with the undeniable impression that our ancient ancestors all over the world knew more then our cutting edge Sciences have discovered about the nature of our reality. You can buy this book on Amazon.com or at any major book retailer including Barnes & Noble. "He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man." The reason I chose this old Avenged Sevenfold video is because it captures the essence of what I'm talking about. Most people give into their 'lower natures' and their addictions because of the pain that being human naturally brings. A lot of people operate on survival mode throughout their life just trying to obtain the basic necessities of life...or things they think are necessary to be happy. Marketing firms don't help in this because they literally try to sell everything as though it's a need and not a want. You need the latest I-Phone to be a happy little human. Yet, what my research into spirituality has taught me is that the vacuum, the pain, that people are feeling comes from the perceived perception of being separate from Source/God. If we are never alone on the other side, if we are part of a collective sharing our thoughts, the pain of being separate is immense and totally foreign. Hence, why people would go to such extremes to try to feel fulfilled...through relationships, drugs or any other means possible. We have to meet the needs of our animal aspect before we can work on any spiritual Journey. This has been expressed in many ways through many traditions for many centuries. People will talk about killing the ego but that's not what I'm talking about here and I think that's a huge horrible misconception. This is a journey into looking how this information has been encoded in many traditions. Many seers and philosophical thinkers have seen the same idea but expressed it in many different ways. Though the symbols may be different and the way they came to the conclusion are their own unique paths if looked at from a wider perspective they are all telling the same story. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs We're going to start off with Psychology. Robert Maslow was born in 1908 and died in 1970. He was among the pioneers of psychology and what he is best known for is his Hierarchy of Needs which continues to be a foundation topic in any psychology class. I remember when i first read about it when earning my Bachelor's In Psychology and being blown away. Maslow used a pyramid to represent the hierarchy of needs.
Interestingly, the lower four levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs are what are represented in the Chakra system. Maslow believed that only when the four lower levels physiological, safety, love-belonging, and esteem are met that a person can be self-actualized.
Maslow estimated that only 2% of the people on the planet are self-actualized. What that means is that their basic needs...those associated with the four lower steps on his pyramid...are met. He defined a person that is self-actualized as someone who can fulfill their potential. As long as a person is trying to fulfill their basic needs from the four lower steps of they pyramid they will never reach self actualization and fulfill their potential as human beings. When these needs go unmet the person is no better than the beasts in the field. The thing is that no one can provide all of these needs to another human being. This is something a person has to do for themselves. Esteem, especially, is a way of thinking and a state of mind. Schools have tried to teach esteem but that is not something that can be provided from the outside but healed from the inside. The Four Lower Chakra's I'm going to provide the basic information of the four lower chakra's. We will look at the upper three chakras (throat, third eye and crown) in a later blog post. For now, the important part is learning to work with or subdue the lower four chakras.
Lets look at these lower four Chakras and their purpose according to Brenda Davies who wrote the book The 7 Healing Chakras: Unlocking your Bodys Energy Centers found on pg 49:
"Chakra 1: Base or Root Chakra (Physiological level Maslow's Hierarchy) This chakra is situated at the base of the spine, between the coccyx and the pelvic bone and it's color is red. Its main function is to keep us grounded in the physical world and to keep us alive. It's associated with physical sensation. The first layer of the Aura is similarly associated with the physical." This is also where the Kundalini energy is said to pool or 'sleep' when it is not being raised through the chakras. The Kundalini is most often depicted as a serpent. Chakra 2: Sacra Chakra (Safety in Maslows Hierarchy) This chakra is to be found in the midline below the navel. It's color is orange and it's main function is related to the reproduction and the giving and receiving of sexual pleasure. The second layer of the aura is similarly associated with the emotional." Chakra 3: Solar Plexus Chakra (Love/Belonging in Maslows Hierarchy) The solar plexus is situated either in the midline or slightly to the left above the stomach. Its color is yellow. This is the site where we form Opinion. Here is the center of potency, power and will. The third layer of the aura is associated with mental functions." Chakra 4: Heart Chakra (Esteem in Maslows Hierarchy) This is sometimes referred to as a transitional chakra since the lower three are concerned with the physical and emotional and now begin to move toward the spiritual. The heart bridges the two realms and is the center for human love. It's also a center for feeling and its color is emerald green. Its layer is the astral plane." As you can see, this is a reflection of the system that came before but there is more! The Egyptian Tale of the Seven Houses in the Other World First let me explain one common misunderstanding of the Egyptian Book of the Dead as John Van Auken explains. The book is not really about rites for the dead. The book is for the Living Dead. The book is really about awakening to a higher level of Spirit within the flesh. Those who are not spiritually awakened are the Living Dead. The true translation is, "Coming Forth By Day." Sadly, in the early 1900's when the West discovered and searched Egypt for her mysteries we applied our Dark Age thinking to the symbols and items we found misconstruing what it actually represented. With that in mind let's continue... This comes directly from Laird Scranton's book titled The Mystery of Skara Brae (Scranont, 2016). Clearly you can see with the number seven that it align's easily with the chakras system. Laird Scranton ties it in with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. As far as I know, Scranton never connected these with chakra's. This take on it is entirely not mine and not representative of the cosmology Laird Scranton has uncovered. We're going to only focus on the first four houses as that's the focus in this blog. In The Mystery of Skara Brae Laird states that the tale of the Seven Houses comes from the Egyptian Book of the Dead (more accurately translated as Coming Forth by Day). Laird also ties these in with the seven wrapped-up dimensions of the Dogon Egg of the World but I won't quite explore the depth of that in this blog. In each of these houses the main character, Ani declares, "Let the spirit of an old man pass!" House One: (Root Chakra) Three God's just inside the doorway are dreaming. The first god is the watchman, the second is a doorkeeper and the third is a herald. One has the head of the crocodile, the second an ear of corn and the third stood as straight as a pillar of stone. Laird goes into an in depth analysis...but strictly speak if I was interperting this as a dream the needs of the predatory animal and the need for food would be obvious. Laird states that the pillar stands for the notion of "coming into being' regarding his cosmology (literally the creation of the cosmos) but it is possible this can also be the coming into being of the self-actualized person. If anything, these old Mystery Schools or the Egyptian House of Life at least three layers of meaning to all of their stories: the universal, the earthly and the individual. House Two: (Sacral Chakra) In this house, Ani encounters three gods that are conspiring. Here Ani reminisces about being young, eating and making love. The Spirit says a few things here but ends, "I am heavy as a stone, not easily blown by the breezes, but I sail when I must and strike a blow to untruth." House Three: Here the three Gods are dancing. Two of the God's have Jackal snouts and Laird relates this to mean "he who is at the head." The third god is spinning around a stalk of corn. A common theme that Laird lays out is that of a bull and the word meskh-t which is a constellation of a Bulls Head. House Four: At the fourth house the three gods are shimmering at the doorway. One God has the face of a man and another has a face of a lion. He relates that both the hieroglyphic word for man and lion are rem which refers to the cubit or measurement. Here Laird identifies both the attributes and light. The spirit calls himself, "A scribe faithful to the language of the heart." He also states, "I am a man born under fortunate stars into the hands of the gods and goddesses. I have cut loose my body, I have risen up and walked about heaven." The Hindu Parable of the Seven Houses Again, from Laird Scranton's Mystery of Skara Brae. Laird believes that the female goddesses predate the male. In this one, we find instead of a male spirit the the Goddess Devi visiting the seven houses. The First House: (Root) Here the housewife that Devi visits is sleeping. "The act of waking up is equated with the initial stirrings of creation after matter in it's wavelike matter is perceived," Laird Scranton (2016). The Second House: (Sacral) Here Devi finds the housewife eating. Here Laird equates the world eating with the God Amma and explaines that god's name reads, "That which gives knowledge." The Third House: (Solar) In the third house Devi finds the housewife cutting her nails. Here Laird says the Egyptian word for to cut nails is Sesh which is similar to the name Seshat. Seshat was the scribe wife of Horus. Symbolically, Laird explains, the name Seshat is, "The work of the island field is given." He relates this to instruction of agriculture being given at Skara Brae. However, on a more personal level this might be where the work we have done spiritually is reconciled. The Fourth House: (Heart) Devi finds the housewife fighting. The word fight, laird explains, is associated with the Egyptian word for Elephants. Ganesha, Laird explains, is an elephantine symbol in Hindu, is the Gatekeeper of the seven bundles of the dimensions. The Four Chakras In Revelation All of this is from the current book I just finished reading. Edgar Cacye on the Revelation: A Study Guide for Spiritualizing Body and Mind by John Van Auken (2000). I'm just going to include excerpts here (I highly recommend the book, I will admit these are very small snippets). Here in this vision we have messages given to the first four churches (which can also be translated as 'assemblies') that represent the seven chakras or 'spiritual centers.' These are John Van Auken's expansion and explanation of these messages. The Church of Epheseus: (Root Chakra- Beast: Calf) pg 44 "Despite all appearances to the contrary, we are celestial, spiritual beings first. We descended from heaven into matter and this world. These outer influences have taken hold of us. They possess us. We feel completely terrestrial and physical, subjects of this world. This first chakra reflects that loss. It must reverse its focus from worldly realities to include only spiritual realities, remembering that it originally loved the spiritual things and God, who is spirit. The Church of Smyrna: Second Center (Sacral Chakra- Beast: Like a Man) pg 45 "The spirit warned that this center lets fear take hold of it and it must let go of fear. The spirit promised that if this center stops being afraid and doubting the truth, it will not suffer the 'second death.' Cacye said that the second death is when those who have gained understanding again fall away into self-exaltation, accentuating the ego rather than the soul-self, and suffer the death of truth. Cacye explained it this way: "For there is set before thee good and evil, life and death; choose thou. For the spirit of truth maketh alive. Fear, doubt, condemnation, bringeth doubt, illness, fear, and then dissolution (disillusion?); and the hill to be climbed again." (1261-1). The Church of Pergamos: (Solar Plexus- Beast: Lion) pg 46 Note that this is where it said, "Satan dwells." Revelation 2:13 "As the spirit approached this third center, it described itself as as the one with the two edged sword...thus this is the center that is a most dangerous and potentially powerful chakra, given the energy of the solar plexus and adrenal glands "fight or flight" hormones....The spirit said that, uncontrolled, this center throws "stumbling block(s)" in the way of our spiritual efforts. It must stop. If it does, then the spirit promised that it would "eat of the hidden manna" and "receive a new name. (Revelation 2:14-17)... Cacye said that "my name" in verse 13 refers to our eternal name that uniquely identifies each of us from among the rest of creation...John received his name written upon a white stone, indicating it would endure....The manna referred to this centers desire for physical gratification, often symbolized by bread; yet, as Jesus so wonderfully put it, we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). These words from God's mouth, Cacye said, are the hidden manna." The Church of Thyatira: Fourth Center (Heart Chakra- Eagle) pg 47 "Next the spirit moved to the fourth center, identifying itself as the Son of God, with eyes like fire and feet like brass. In other words, it had the vision of the spirit and the understanding that comes only from being tested in the furnace of life. It acknowledged that the heart chakra has charity, faith, patience, service and works, with the most recent works being greater than the first works. There is also one major issue with this center: It lives life without love for spirit, seeking only gratification and pleasure. This is represented by the false Prophet Jezebel, whose motto was, "Get all you want no matter how you obtain it." "The spirit went on to promise that, if this spiritual center changed, then spirit would "give him the morning star." (Revelation 2:28). The morning star is any bright planet seen in the eastern horizon before sunrise. Venus is the most brilliant planet in our solar system and often appears as the morning star. In astrological traditions, Venus represents love, harmony and beauty...Cacye identified Venus with the heart chakra." The Four Beasts pg 50-52 "...Before the throne were the four beasts we first saw in Ezekiel's and then in Daniel's visions, and now, here again, in John's vision (Reveliation 4:4-5)...We find these same beasts represented in ancient Egyptian mysticism as the four children of Horus... According to Cacye, these beasts are "the four destructive influences that make the greater desire for the carnal forces that rise as the beasts within self to destroy." (281-16) We have learned what these destructive influences are from the spirits comments to the first four churches: (1) Leaving our first love, (2) fear, (3) anger, impulsive reactions, and spirit-killing urges; and (4) living life without spiritual purposes and ideals. All of these destructive influences were personified in Cain. Though he first sought God's love, he later didn't desire it. He killed his brother impulsively in anger and spitefulness, only to the then become so afraid that he could not go on without God's promise of protection...Cacye said that these destructive influences must be met (281-16), as God said to Cain, "Sin is crouching at the door, its desire is for you, but you must master it." (Genesis 4:7). As the revelation continued, the four lower glands were raised to higher vibrations, turning away from material, earthly pursuits and contributing to the spiritulization of the body: "the four beasts gave glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne" (Revelation 4:9). When they did this, it affected the cranial nerves ("the twenty four elders will fall down before him who sits on the throne"), and they, in turn, began to contribute to the spiritualization of the body (281-29). The only part of us that is truly worthy to do this is the part that has crucified self-centered desire sufficiently to allow God's will to fully enter." Before I continue I just want to point out after reading the Book of Revelations there is an interesting phrase, "He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him will I give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who receives it." (Revelation 2:17) Also, often times the beast seems to rise up out of the ocean (Revelation 13:1) which, in any dream, is the subconscious. As I explained in my Detachment post if the subconscious (through which the Spirit works) is ignored while we give into basic animal urges it just becomes bigger and louder...sometimes manifesting disease hoping it will wake us up to our more spiritual calling while int he flesh. This can cause an inner war like state as the person seeks material comforts for the pain of seperation from God instead of seeking the inner path of self-examination which is the only way we can really know God/Source (I'll explain this on my blog post on Multidimensional Oneness). Conclusion Phew! That was a lot of scholarly comparison. This was an exhausting post to write! I feel as though I've been translating a long lost language! I pray you see the connections as I do but it all depends on where you are on your own personal journey if you will see them or not. However, I think what you can see clearly illustrated here by the ancients throughout many traditions is that there is the need to pacify these lower centers. I know that John Van Auken says we must crucify our earthly desires but if that was the way then a lot more people would be taking that path. That's the path that is taught but seems to fail so many. I talked about this in my post on Detachment. If we go to any extreme than we become unbalanced and fall off the spiritual path. If we set out to destroy the ego, which is a formation of these four lower 'centers' then it will set out to preserve itself in whatever way that it can. The desire for self-preservation is just hard wired into material life. The ego thinks it is all that is, just as so many who believe in the mechanical universe don't believe Spirit exists in any form. Naturally, the beast will fight to preserve itself. Instead, it's important to find a way to do the inner personal work necessary to meet the needs of those four lower centers. Then we are not slaves to them and we don't neglect those needs. Once we have a balance going through those we can then start working on Self-Actualization. In Revelation, those centers are not just referred to as beasts. They are only beasts when we are asleep or 'as dead' and not consciously working with them. They are beasts when we are working from our earthly selfish desires and not the works of Spirit. On a side note, through my own research into the symbolism of Ancient Egypt I came to associate the Root Chakra, at the very least with the Symbol of the Snake. The first four Neters have snakes in their hieroglyphs (they each have more than one set of hieroglyphs associated with them I had to do a little digging to find the trend). Based on this I wonder if the symbols for the first four Neters ( Shu, Tefnut, Geb, and Nut) represent the lower four chakras in the Egyptian Symbols. The symbols progress until they show an egg, a chick and eventually a full grown bird in the hieroglyphs for Horus. I will delve into this when I go into the eight stages of creation according to the Dogon, the eight neters, and then relate them to the chakras. Either way, the idea in almost all spiritual forms I have studied is a progression where the Snake, symbolizing the lower earthly nature of the practitioner, either is given wings (Quetzalcoatl) or it becomes a bird (phoenix). The undeniable pattern within all of the traditions is that it is necessity to work through these four lower chakras to the three upper ones in order to 'transcend' the Earthly school of learning. Imagine my shock and surprise when I realized that I had been visiting these 'houses' much like the Spirit of Ani from the Egyptian Book of the Dead! Even more shocking to me is when I read in John Van Auken's book on the Revelation that all of the prophets had Mountain Top dreams...and if you've read my previous posts you know I've had them! Whoa! To have visions in common with prophets from the Bible! At the end of the day, though, I have to laugh at all of this...so beautiful, so simple and so overlooked. I love sharing my personal revelations with all of you and there is so much more to come! I've already written the blogs for April though I might not post them in the order I wrote them. The Higher Self is a concept that I never could quite wrap my mind around. To me it seems to be a concept that few people really dig deeply into understanding. Instead, people seem to expect it to be some sort of cheat code to the game of life. People ask how they can speak directly to their higher self so that they can know what to do, treating it more like a coach then a partner in this life and something that can control them like a puppet.
Not only do I think our human minds would resent such control but I think that it wouldn't be half as beautiful as the intricate relationship we have to our Higher Self. There have been many who have tried to approach this subject from very divergent paths. I can, by some ability I cannot quite understand, unite those paths into one voice and show people how all of these many paths lead to the same goal. The Higher Self In the Egyptian Book of the Dead In Egyptian sources the soul is called Ba and it's not to be entirely confused with our Earthly Existence (John Van Auken, 1999). The Ba is depicted as a human with a birds head, the birds body symbolizes the spirit or soul of a person. The Earthly body was called Ka and the goal was to unite the Ba and Ka so that the person could return to the celestial being it was before incarnating in this world (a Godling created in the image of the Creator). The two concepts are very separate and it's easy to identify the Ba as the Higher Self. (As for why this would happen at all, the idea is that we were immature psyche's in the beginning and we decided coming down to Earth and playing this game would be a good way to become wise quickly.) The Higher Self Depicted In The New Testament We can find a version of the Higher Self in the book of Luke using the same imagery as the Egyptian Book of the Dead, "When all of the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased." Of course, it's not until we read Revelation (which was a vision and such things are on the same level as a Shamanic Journey or Dream. Revelation has many levels because the vision of the Higher Self is far more complex than our limited minds can comprehend) that we realize exactly what Yeshua did that was so different from other people but that analysis is for another post. I still do not understand what Yeshua did completely or what it means for humanity and I find the Church explanation lacking significantly in Truth (as one would expect of a regime that used religion to control people not enlighten them). The Higher Self in Journey of Souls In Journey of Souls by Michael Newton (1994) it is explained that there is a portion of the soul that never leaves heaven. That portion, to the others who remain in heaven appears to be 'sleeping' because it's entire energy is turned towards the human experience that it is undergoing. However, it can still be interacted with and can even go to meet those returning from the Earth plane experience. In fact, it's explained that the full energy of a soul cannot go entirely to Earth. This portion of the Energy of the Soul that remains in "heaven' or the spiritual plane would be the Higher Self. Further, it is explained that before a person Incarnates not only do they go over the life they are to have in detail- they learn the different cues in life and they know every potentiality of that life. As there are many different ways that a life can go the Soul, before it incarnates, tries to remember particular cues or reminders to keep it on the path where the Soul will experience the most growth. Therefore, the portion of the Soul (or Ba, if you prefer) does know the "lay of the land" and can help guide the portion of it's energy that's invested (or entombed) in the physical body. The Higher Self According to Bashar (Channeled by Daryl Anka) Perhaps some of the most entertaining perspectives I've ever heard regarding the Higher Self were given by Bashar. He described the Higher-self as a bird and the self as walking through a valley (reminiscent of Psalm 23). The Bird (Higher Self/Ba) can see that there is a hole and it tries to communicate it to the physical self through dreams and intuition. The Self (or human incarnation) keeps going ignoring their Ba (higher-self) and falls into a ditch. The Higher Self throws it's arms up in frustration. The higher-self doesn't want to be in the ditch anymore than the human self. It is only when the two (Ba and Ka, Human mind and Higher self) are working in conjunction that the human self can heed the warnings, turn back and go to the bridge spanning the crevice that it had missed, that was just a few miles back and did involve a little back tracking to find. The Higher Self According to Carl Jung This concept I did not come across until a chance discussion. However, it did provide an, "Ah ha!" moment. I was speaking to a man that believed that his Anima had more or less rejected him preventing him from continuing his soul's inner seeking journey. I realized my Animus takes up the form of my husband and that we go on many journeys together entering many portals in my dreams. When attempting to study this concept in depth further I have discovered a hideous amount of disinformation and confusing interpretations. So to cut into the pie, as it were metaphorically, I'm just going to state my interpretation. The portion of the person that remains in heaven is actually the opposite of the gender that we experience here on Earth. For example, my aspect that remains on the spiritual side is male. Jung explains that this part of the person's identity is plugged into the Collective Unconscious. As I have discussed before, this Collective Unconscious is more of The Consciousness (what some refer to as an Oversoul) but that is another post. More or less, I have found that I can improve my relationship with my Higher Self by improving the relationships we have with the opposite sex here on Earth. Once the two sides are working in union life becomes far more clear. There are many ways that this can be done, I am sure, but it's imperative to embrace the aspects that are the opposite gender of our own. The Higher Self Information from Collete Baron-Reid While reading the the book The Map by Collete Baron-Reid I found the last bit of the puzzle when it comes to the Higher Self. This goes into the conversation I was having with the person regarding his Anima that he felt had rejected him. The key with being in tune with the Higher Self is to fully embrace and integrate all your aspects. If we do not integrate (and choose to repress) parts of ourselves we won't have a relationship with our Higher Self. Instead, we create a Shadow Side to ourselves. Nature will run it's course (as the Catholic Priests discovered) whether we embrace it or not so the way of the monk is not the true answer nor is the idea of severing ourselves from the human experience everyone else has on Earth. "Another important part of this book grew out of the personal work I did toward healing my wounded ego. Pioneering psychologist Carl Jung called this unhealed ego the Shadow- it contains the parts of the self that we refuse, deny or repress. Until I was able to name and accept the parts of me that identified with my wounds, I was unable to become the person I wanted to be." (Colette Baron Reid, 2011). I can tie this in with the Egyptian Book of the Dead where the initiate Ani is asked who is Ra the reply is, "The creator of the names of his limbs, which came in to being in the forms of god's who are in the train of Ra, 'I am he who cannot be repulsed by the Gods." This is, in and of itself, an entirely different blog but suffice to say that it is part of the initiates journey to familiarize ourselves with all of our parts- especially by embracing that which we hate or we are the most ashamed. That which is resisted persist's as a good friend of mine, Michael Robert Schaumann, recently told me. What we repress becomes our Shadow. Given that people are currently seeing this Shadow aspect of themselves (and seeing it as menacing such as The Hat Man by Heidi Hollis) it's really important we deal with our Wounded Ego's and get in touch with our Higher Selves. However, there are many paths to this form of healing. The best description of this process of integration is profoundly presented by Denise Lin in the forward of Colette Baron-Reid's book as, "...the hero's journey into the authentic self." The authentic self lies within the union of the Higher Self with this Earthly incarnation. Those who have this connection are called "self-actualized" and, as Maslow suggested, represent a very small percentage of the human population. Self-actualization, however, cannot entirely be realized until an individual commits themselves to the service of others. The classic words of Yeshua in Matthew 5:15 come to mind here: "Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." The Language of the Higher Self Dreams have always been something that people pay attention to and that I have always seen as a sort of guide. The late psychic Edgar Cacye encouraged people to inspect their dreams. He explained that when we go to sleep it is like death and we cross over to the other side. Bashar says the same thing in that when we are sleeping we are our true selves. Therefore, when we come back in the morning our mind interprets that experience of the 'spirit.' The dream symbolism, in my opinion, is how we can communicate with our Higher Self. As Jung and Joseph Campbell points out it is with universal archetypes- the Collective Unconscious has access to all of the human information so we are 'plugged in' to the same group that's why they are universal- and it can take some time to learn or understand this symbolism. I highly recommend dream interpretation books written by Edgar Cacye's A.R.E. We are always given little tid-bits of what to expect or something that will help us with the current portion of the Hero's Journey upon which we are traveling. Conclusion The Higher-self is neither ambiguous neither is it a concept that is completely metaphor. This is a very real part of our souls that dwells on the other side of the 'veil.' That portion of us is always in contact with us as we journey throughout life. The Higher Self is always in contact with God as well because it is in the place of spirit with God. That aspect also contains much of our energy from past lives in the other gender and presents itself in our dreams as the opposite gender. The process to work with the Higher Self is that of integration. Learning not to repress aspects of ourselves. That can be very challenging work. I like to describe it as a process where I am continually finding baubles to inspect or something else to integrate. I am not sure if that process ever ends in life because as I grow I always seem to find more psychological wounds to explore and heal. A good indication that we are not working with our higher self is when we dream of disputes with or encounter a non-compliant opposite gender in our dreams. We can resolve our issues with the opposite gender in the real world by working on our relationship with the opposite gender or balancing the male/female drives that we all possess within ourselves. However, if we are working in the opposite way (dis-integration) we create a shadow. Those un-owned aspects of ourselves that we loathe can take on a life of their own and can really plague the human mind. I have not delved deeply into this topic, but it almost seems as though some people create an actual entity that can be seen in the Twilight before sleep. That might be a future blog post. Finally, let me explain why I chose "Little Piece of Heaven" as a video to best portray the union of the "Higher" and "Lower" self. It's a bit graphic and people might see it as evil. However, so often on our way to becoming self-actualized we try to kill our inner male or female component. We then exist as nothing more then pure animals. This song best captures the idea of someone who gives into their base urges, then realizes what they have done to themselves, and then 'marries' their Higher Self. Whether this is the point of the artists, I have no idea, but I think it is a very poignant way of seeing how we usually deny/repress or even "slay" our Higher Selves. Joseph Campbell said it best in an interview I recently watched when he said, "Be careful that when slaying the Dragon you do not slay the best part of yourself." |
