The most important bit of information that I took away from Shanon Doreys book Master Of Speech was the origin and reason for the Shadow...or the veil between the conscious and unconscious.
According to Shannon Dorey the concept of an androgynous, or a being with two souls, is one that has the conscious and what we perceive as the Unconscious. The Jackal, the result of Nummo interference on Earth, only had one soul or gender (male). According to Shannon Dorey's interpretation there were several attempts to correct this but none of them worked so the 'second soul' of humans was removed. This second soul became the subconscious. This confirms a lot of the research I've done and conclusions that I've come to over the years. First, as I shared years ago, Shannon Dorey points out Jung recognized the second soul as a different gender from the conscious. A man must become acquainted with his Anima and a woman with her Animus. This helps explain why the "androgynous" non-mayetial Nummo saw a "single gender" as a mistake. They were not talking about biological gender. Biological gender was best metaphor for they had for the conscious and subconscious was to compare them to genders...just as they describe their God Amma as a fish and everyone knows that's a metaphor. Second, that the Unconscious/Subconscious is the part of us that is connected to the 'Hive Mind' of Spirit. A lot of sources don't come out and say that but it is implied. This quote doesn't sat it directly but makes it obvious. Also, as we will see in my next post about Shannon Doreys chapter on dreams...dreams are the realm of the subconscious and our 'phone line's to Spirit. Third, the separation of Humanities Conscious and Subconscious...referred to simply as 'the veil' or the 'veil of forgetfulness' was done on purpose. One of the reasons is that there was a debt owed to the Earth because it was mistreated by Amma and the Jackal. We will cover that topic in a third post. Validation All of this fits into the narrative that I've shared before that runs through all of the 'mystery teachings' from Alchemy to the Tarot. The Jackal is that person (or thing, maybe a computer?) that was the first to perceive itself as seperate on Atlantis. That perception of Seperation spread like a virus through that form of the human race. The Jackal could be compared to the Snake in the Garden of Eden that first suggested to Eve that she didn't have to obey God. That sense of Free Will is a speration. I think it's important that Jewish teachers of the Kabbalah say that Free Will was always intended but was a 'little early' causing Malkuth to shatter. As a result of this "knowing" too soon the veil was created. Some call this the "fall" but the Egyptians (according to John Van Aukens Ancient Egyptian Mysticism) saw it as merely "upside down" because man thinks that Physical Material Reality is all there is....when really the only thing that actually exists is All-That-Is. Adam of the bible may actually represent the Jackal. He felt alone...he perceived himself as seperate from the Creator and that is why "Eve" was removed from him so he could interact with something. In fact, the Dogon call the Jackal the, "First Son of God." Which is the same title given to Adam in the Bible. The Dogon literally say the subconscious is removed through circumcision. I find that absolutely fascinating. The physical act of circumcision with the male and the imaginative act with the female is also symbolic of the general perception of Spirit/Subconscious as female (as depicted in the Tarot) so it's imaginative/non-physical and the male being Consciousness (again, as depicted in the Tarot) physically removing a part of the male genitilia. So, again we find that this is confirmed by several sources. The Edgar Cacye Material, the Tarot, Alchemy and even the general acceptance of the Anima/Animus by Carl Jung. Conclusion Whether it was because of the Nummo's error or some sort of design...all of the mystery teachings say that the separation of the Subconscious from the Conscious was intentional and a form of "correction." While most of the material I've read is in agreement with the correction only Tarot and Alchemy says how the correction works. That each individual must unite the Conscousiness with the Subcinscious to create a New Consciousness (or Divine Child) that consists of both. That's why I love those two disciplines. They faithfully provide the solution while so many others only focus on the "error" that lead to the Separation. Each person is responsible fo Awakwning to their spiritual identity and then doing the Work of bringing their subconscious Shadow into their consciousness. Once you stop trying to narrate the human story as Good versus Evil and see only One Thing...the story becomes obvious.

The next gem* that I uncovered in Shannon Doreys Master Of Speech isn't based on the Dogon teachings. Instead, in a chapter where she provides evidence for the Sunconscious she provides this fascinating quote from an author names M-L con Franz:
"In his basic view of life the soul is simply a companion referred to as 'The Great Man'...Those Naskapi who pay attention to their dreams and who try to find their meaning and test their truth can enter into a deeper connection with the Great Man. He favors such people and sends them more and better dreams. Thus the major obligation of an individual is to follow the instructions given by his dreams, and then give permanent form to their contents in art." Pg 138 Dorey goes on to explain that dreams are seen in a similar way by the Dogon. I've worked with my dreams since I was 15. I don't have typical dreams. They're usually like movies and have several layers of meaning. I think it's interesting that both the Catholic Church and Science demonize or dismiss dreams. Some research has suggested that people who don't dream are psychotic. I think that's a by-product of not being connected to Spirit. There are a few ways people look at what we are connected to in dreams. Are we just connecting to our Higher Self, the Collective, a different dimension or the Creator? I think it can be any and all of these. Sometimes they're just dreams that rehash our day or repeat something we are trying to learn. Out of body experiences definitely happen too. The two main lessons I've learned when working to receive and interpet dreams has been paitience and discernment. My life is definitely richer with my dreams. My dreams just make life more interesting. I've had too many pre-cognitive dreams and personal breakthroughs to dismiss them. I feel really sorry for those who choose to miss out on this dynamic and intersting part of life. I really enjoyed this book.
I can't recommend it to everyone...and it is one of those diversions on the Path of the Seeker. I bought this book a couple of years ago and it's one that I put down, then picked up and then put down again. A lot of the passages require meditation to really understand them. That said, this book is part of a small collection that appeals to a small group of people. I think those looking to learn more about the Dogon religion will enjoy it. I honestly thought it was awesome to hear a woman's perspective. I loved that she came to many of the same conclusions that I did when reading the Pale Fox and her elaborations when it comes to the second book by Griaule that I have not read called Conversations With Ogotemmeli. The writing is tedious at times. Shannon Dorey has the tendency to repeat the same phrase, sometimes in the same paragraph, several times. The good news is, you end up memorizing several parts of the religion. The bad thing is that I often would skip paragraphs assuming that the author was again restating a conclusion in a new way only to find out there was a small nugget of information in there that I needed to understand in order to comprhend the next paragraph. The other thing that detracted from the rest of her studies is the fact that (like so many people) she has a very literal perspective. I found the chapter where she explained the physical description of the Nummo painful to read. The main reason that this chapter was painful and cast doubt on Shannon's work is because in the book Pale Fox it is stated flat out that the Nummo were none physical. The image of something that looked between a mix of alligator and sloth riding around on a roller skate...well, it that's just an absurd image. Since she presents that as the central argument for the idea that the Nummo are a real force...it really undermines her credibility. The fact she always injects the female pronoun into every quote and reference to the Nummo can be annoying too. She already established (as has everyone else) that the Nummo contained both genders. She establishes that it's implied even when the terms 'he' or 'she' are used. Repeating that throughout the book and quotes can be distracting to the reader and also suggests that the reader is too dumb to realize that 'he' and 'she' are just a placeholder since a more appropriate term does not exist. Also a bit tiresome is the numerous chapters where she equates well known Greek and Roman myths with the different characters in Dogon mythology. That's not because it's not valuable information...but her writing style makes it a bit muddy. The information is a bit repetitive and, at times, confusing. She will often refer to different myths of very different cultures in the same paragraph. Sometimes this is foreshadowing of a future chapter but it can be jarring when trying to follow the logic of her argument regarding a specific myth. However, she presents information and perspectives that are unique and incredibly valuable. In particular, she has as chapter that pretty much explains Shadow Work. She has another chapter on dreams that is totally amazing too. I find these topics as she presents them of such value that I am going to cover those ideas specifically in different blogs. These are topics I can never see Laird Scranton covering. Finally, she does establish a very specific set of symbols for the Jackal, the Nummo, the Master/Mistress of Speech and that is super helpful. Conclusion Shannon Dorey didn't have to convince me that the Dogon mythology represents the 'mother' religion of all religions because Laird Scranton has established that beyond a shadow of a doubt. She also doesn't have to convince me that most of this information applies on a microscopic level either...because, again Laird Scranton proves the same points (hence why I bought this book opposed to her first book that focused on that topic). What she does do exceptionally well is look at the bigger picture. Her identification of specific symbols is invaluable. Her real strength is when she examines non-physical concepts. While she doesn't zoom out completely and fails to include the soul in her interpretation...most authors fail to do that one. At the end of the day this book is for people dedicated to understanding the Dogon religion. Other people will become frustrated by the writing and be deterred by the focus on the physical. I, however, do think it is of immense value and I will probably buy her book Day Of The Fish sometime in the future. The other well known, and I will say one of my most beloved authors, Laird Scranton doesn't explore these 'softer' themes. So, it's nice to come across them. Feminine Energy Graduation : Part One
Alright we are going to go down this little Rabbit hole and see what we find. I hope you can follow me on this one because it's going to get a little complicated. We're going to examine this from many perspectives. I don't usually pay attention to the stories of the Greek or Roman Gods because it's pointless. There is way too much overlap and confusion because people forgot the origin of the stories of the Gods. As I shared with the quote from The Gates Of Righteous Knowledge the Jewish people know that the pantheon of God's from other groups originated with the seven planets. Let's start with recapping a little bit of what I shared in the last blog. Dogon Eight Ancestors I might sound like a broken record with this subject. Yet, no one really talks about it so I don't find it in the collective. When the Creator was making our part of the cosmos the first six phases, referred to as ancestors by the Dogon, unfolded properly. The eighth ancestor, however, descended before the appointed time. The seventh ancestor, who was angry about this, killed the eighth ancestor. Therefore we are at the 7th stage of creation but the creation was thrown into chaos. This is based on Laird Scranton's work which demonstrates the connection between the worlds oldest religions: Dogon, Hindu, Buddhist and Chinese. The Dwarf Planet Eris/Xena The Greek Goddess Eris is said, in one version of the myth, to be the daughter of Zeus. She is the counterpart to Aries (Mars) and rides into battle. She also started the Trojan War when she wasn't invited to a wedding by tossing a Golden Apple with the words 'To the fairest one,' knowing it would trigger a war. Also interesting is the fact that this planet was originally called Xena after the television charecter. She was a warrior princess that had a love affair with Mars in the television show. This establishes this planet as a Warrior energy. I did look up the information on Eris and as I guessed...it was because of this discovery in 2003 that led the International Astronmical Union to reclassify Pluto as a dwarf planet instead of announcing the discovery of a new planet on the solar system. The uninvited feminine indeed! This planet goes beyond the Kupler belt during it's rotation but it is very much in the shadow of Pluto. Eris and Pluto Now, the fact Eris is in the Shadow of Pluto ties her to the story of Persephone. As we all know Persephone was tricked into the Underworld when Hades/Pluto tricked her into eating Pomegranate seeds. Ceres, the mother of Persephone, threatened to starve the people of Earth. So, Jupiter gathered the Gods and it was decided Persephone would spend 6 months of the year with Hades and 6 months of the year with her mother. This, again, hints at the duality of what the souls "trapped in matter" (as Edgar Cacye would call it) experience. We split our time in heaven as souls in training and on Earth having material experiences. This seems to be the fundamental result of the "flaw" that occurred in our part of the Creation (Malkuth) when light arrived before the appointed time. Inanna and Dumunzi The connections to this story will be expanded on in Part Two. There we will make a lot more connections. We find a similar story to Persephone's in the story of Inanna. Inanna (Venus) descends to the Underworld to visit her sister (Earth) when the Bull of Heaven is killed by Gilgamesh. I've explained in other blogs that this is symbolic of humanity trying to kill it's animal nature but I will revisit that topic soon. Erinshakghal then crucified Inanna. When she did not return to heaven her two servants informed her Uncle Enki. Enki then came down to the Underworld to save her...but the story doesn't end there. When Inanna returns to heaven completely changed she finds her husband is ruling her place. He wasn't concerned about her and in rage she kills him. Whenbshe comes to her senses she realizes what she has done. She works out an agreement to spend half the year in the Underworld so he can spend half the year in heaven. The Ninth Planet Nibiru Since Eris fills the spot of Planet X I feel the story that Stitchin tells about Nibiru. Stitchen based his interpretation of Sumerian cylinder seals that were visual depictions, much like the Egyptian art were the depiction of visual stories everyone understood. The story of Nibiru starts with the planet Tiamet. Tiamet was the Mother of Dragons (Daenerys Game of Thrones anyone?). Nibiru was the interloper from another solar system. When traveling out of control through our solar system it smashes into Tiamet. Tiamet broke apart with a part of it forming the Earth. The rest of Tiamet became the comets and asteroid belt. Again, the primary inspiration for this theory is a cylinder seal that clearly shows 12 planets...including the Sun and Moon. An image of the cylinder is in Stitchin's book. He also explains how the Sumerians described the planets of our solar system starting from outside our solar system. I agree based on that Cylinder Seal depiction that the Sumerians knew the lay out of our solar system. Velikovsky's Theory Stitchin is not the only one to believe there was chaos in our Galaxy at an earlier point in history. Velikovsky believes that Venus was expelled from Jupiter around the 15th century. Venus then passed near the Earth changing the Earths orbit and axis resulting in many catastrophes the world over. Conclusion Alright, I know the last two parts of this blog seemed to be an odd fit. Trust me, in part two I will attempt to explain the connections between those two stories and much more. I will give you one hint about the connection here...Venus. We will be going far deeper into the rabbit hole but everything I have shares here ties in...the issue is that it does so in a very non-linear fashion. If you were expecting a nice A to B lesson here...that's not the experience of a rabbit hole! This is one of the reasons I have difficulty sharing non-linear information. The translation can appear jumbled and nonsensical...but you'll just have to push through to next weeks blog. |
